The Queen and I

The Queen and I have become distant.  I have tried to repent and no longer sleep with her, but once she finally accepted it I decided to once again renew our affair.  We were almost caught, but I protected her from being tried for treason once again.  I also believed that I would never be able to perform a miracle because I was no longer a virgin, but a knight that had a wound that would never came to court one day to be healed.  I prayed to God that he might allow me to perform just one miracle, and he granted me this wish.  This is the greatest thing that I have done in my life.

My Affair

I have decided that since I am no longer a virgin and cannot perform a miracle I will begin my affair with Queen Guenever.  I know that if I am caught with her it will surely be the death of me, but I no longer care.  I will now become the queen's lover and protector.

Court

I have stayed in the king's court for several weeks now, but every day that I spend in court becomes harder and harder to bear.  It is becoming difficult to resist the queen, but I know that I must.  I have lost nearly two stone in weight.  However, Guenever told me to go on another quest, to which I obliged.  However, it was on this quest that I was tricked by Elaine into sleeping with her and had my son by her, named Galahad.  I stayed with her out of shame, and because I wanted to care for my son.  One day two knights came to the castle and told me to return to Camelot, and so I did.

A Word

A man has very few things in this world that are truly his, and one of these things is a man's Word.  My Word is the most valuable thing that I have.  Today when we returned to England I realized that I was truly in love with Guenever when she kissed the king.  I must go away for a while on a quest as to correct myself and keep my Word.

The Roman Campaign

During the Roman Campaign I worked my way into the King's favor.  In the battle I fought in my men were outnumbered three to one, but we won and I slew King Lyly, and three other lords named Alakuke, Herawd, and Heringdale.  This battle caused me to be acknowledged as the greatest fighter in the King's army.  I believe that King Arthur has become fond of me, and I am determined that Guenever shall not come between me and the king.

Uncle Dap's Accusation

Today, while in the mews with Uncle Dap, he accused me of being in love with Queen Guenever.  I am certainly not in love with her.  I know that being in love with her would surely be the end of both of us.  We are simply fond of each other.  I told Uncle Dap that he should go home because he can't be my squire forever, but he refused.

Portrait

Now that I am a knight the king has decreed that I have a portrait of myself made. This is the portrait that I had commissioned for myself.
